He just is...

Tim is really the most amazing man I have ever known. He is both patient and kind. He loves Jesus, and loves sharing Jesus with others. He gives me room to be me, with all of my faults and ugliness! He loves me anyway! Im so blessed to be married to Tim! There is no special occasion, but just an overwhelming sense that Im totally in love with this man! He is a GREAT husband and an AMAZING father. I am a blessed woman I really am! This chaotic, crazy life we live would be lonely with out him. Im thankful in this moment for this undeserving gift that God gave to me. I am humbled really.

The saddest part of Amy's visit

The worst part of Amy's visit was seeing her leave. She spent 11 days with us. It was so nice to have family come and see us. Preston LOVED having her as did Tim and I. We miss Amy and wish we could see her more often. We are thankful and blessed that she flew all the way out here by herself to spend time with us.

6 years ago we moved to Asia

 6 years ago we moved to Asia. So much has happened since then. Besides the obvious of learning language and getting settled in our lives in Asia, we learned to live at a much slower pace in life in order to survive Thai culture. We had our fair share of miss communications due to culture and language barriers. I learned to drive a motor bike in Thailand, as well as learned to drive on the left side of the road. Our son was born in Thailand a little over 2 years after our arrival. We were 24 and incredibly ambitious. The world was at our fingertips and we were going to grab hold. After years in Thailand we decided to move to Vietnam and have basically started over again. What we thought our lives would be like when we moved to SE Asia in 2005 and what they look like today are very different. Through all the difficult seasons of life I am always and forever grateful that I married the man that I did. I wouldn't want to live this crazy adventure with anyone else. So happy 6 years of living overseas anniversary. Hard to believe we have been married 8 1/2 years and most of that has been in Asia.

back to "normal"

So life is getting back to normal for us in Hanoi. It is about 100 degrees out so lots of water is being consumed at our house. It is still a daily struggle for me to use my Vietnamese, because I still want to speak Thai instead. For every 1 word I speak in Vietnamese there are usually 3 or 4 that follow in Thai. Not sure when my brain will ever make the switch, but when it happens I'll let you know.

Last week Tim took a team of young people to the village. They had lots of walking and lots of praying. Most of all they got to meet and see the people.

They worshiped and prayed inside a cave.

Prayed for the many people they came across. 

They got to play lots of football (soccer) and then gave the ball to the village head

It was rice harvesting time so they helped in the fields and continued to pray for the faces they came across

The hikes were hard, but views were breath taking.

Tim will be leading another team starting July 4th. Pray for Preston and I as well as Tim. On the 9th of July Tims family arrives, and when they leave we will be moving out of our house. However, we are not sure where we will be moving to. So a busy summer for us, how about you? There is still time to plan your trip to Vietnam for next summer. :)
